Welcome

Hi, I’m Erika.

Welcome to my site! Before we go any further, I’d like to introduce you to my crazy wonderful family on the left. I have 2 astounding daughters, a wonderful husband of 15 years and a 12 year old German Shepherd named Jack.

Abbie, a junior in college, dared me to post that deranged looking photo of her on the far left. That is what she sends me when she feels I haven’t snapped her back fast enough. Our snap streak is over 1500, so it’s not like I ever forget :-)

Evolution of a planner.

I have always been someone who is 98.5% of the time quite organized. A planner has been by my side ever since my first job. However, after having a family the need to be super organized was essential.

I began designing my own planners over 8 years ago when I simply could not find anything to fit my growing needs. I started out with bound planners that many of you have known and loved, but after an injury, my body couldn’t handle producing the thousands of pages every day. So I transitioned my layouts to printables which I loved even more than the bound versions until I learned about Digital Planning and Notetaking.

Well my entire world tuned upside down. If you know, you know. Digital Planning/Notetaking is, for me, the end all be all. I don’t know if I have ever been so happy and organized in my life and I haven’t even made half of everything I plan to design.

If you are able to try digital planning go and do it now!

Also I think it is important to note, that I was a little bit of a paper snob before I found digital planning. Meaning, I would go on and on about how I could never not write on paper. I loved the pens, the feel of the paper, etc…, but I have all of that with digital too all in one small handy set-up.

My Set-Up

  • iPad Pro 11
  • Apple Pencil 2 – I tried a cheaper version that was highly rated, but it just didn’t work anywhere near as good as the Apple Pencil.
  • Matte Screen Protector – I did a ton of research on this and I ended up buying a 3 pack on Amazon for under $10. It works beautifully and feels just like writing on paper.
  • Pencil Grip – Love this so the pencil doesn’t slip around.
  • GoodNotes 5 – However I also have Notability and Noteshelf installed on my iPad, I just prefer GoodNotes.

All of these things combined make me feel like I am writing just like if I had a journal in front of me. The only difference is, this is better.

One final thought.

No matter what you do, digital or printable, I hope you enjoy my designs and layouts. They have made my life easier and my day brighter and I hope they do the same for you!
